In loving memory of Snoopy. He was my best friend and companion. I met him when he was just 5 weeks old. He was in his birthing box with his brother and 2 sisters. I instantly fell in love with him. He stayed with his mother and siblings for another 3 weeks-I visited him several times. He came to live with me when he was 8 weeks old. Shortly after, I got the flu and we spent a week on the couch-it was a good bonding time. After that, we were inseparable. We went on walks and occasional trips to the beach. He always hated car rides, but loved running on the beach. And he loved chasing birds, squirrels, and his ball.
He was always there to meet, greet, and give me his love when I came home. Always with the wag of his tail and lots of licks. He always knew when I was unhappy or upset-he’d bring me his ball and give me a nudge. Then he’d back up, tail wagging like crazy, and wait for me to throw it. If that didn’t work, he’d put his head on my lap and look up at me, as if to say “I’m here for you”. We were together for 10 years-10 wonderful years.
I was with him till the end. I held him, talked to him and gave him lots of love. I’m sure he knew something was happening-my tears wouldn’t stop. When the doctor came in with the shots, he laid his little head in my lap. I gave him a big kiss and told him we’d meet again. The end came quickly and he was gone. I held him awhile longer and gave him one last kiss.
I will always remember and love him.
