In loving memory of Jake,14, our beautiful brown and white Springer Spaniel, who we love so much. He passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Jake was a great hunter; he even loved hunting in the field for mice. Nothing pleased him more than a long walk, stopping to take a swim in a nearby pond. Whenever someone would take the time to throw a ball, he would chase it innumerable times. Oh, yes, he'd rest, but only for a few seconds! If someone didn't get a ball, he would go to the corncrib and get a cob of corn for them;sometimes he'd even settle for a twig.
During hunting season, Jake would stay in the cabin all week with the hunters; he became their mascot. Hunting will never be the same without him. Because of his special personality, there will never be another Jake. Brass, our beagle, Snickers, our poodle, and Thumper, our kitty, say their hearts are aching for their special friend. Jake is buried on the farm above the house near the woods he loved so much. The site overlooks the farm so he will enjoy the view forever. Thanks for all the beautiful memories, Jake! Miss you and love you so much!
