My sweet baby girl Heidi came into my life in February 1992, and brought me immeasurable love and joy for the next 16 years. Heidi was diagnosed with CRF (chronic renal failure) in 2005, and for 3 years she bravely endured all the medical interventions needed to keep her with me. She loved lying in the sun, chasing the red laser 'dot', eating Cheerios with milk, rolling in catnip, sitting at the kitchen counter, cuddling in my lap, sleeping on my head at night -- all the while purring loudly. This illness finally took her from me on March 4, 2008. Heidi died in my arms, still purring softly. She was the Cat of my Heart, and I will never forget her.
Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the day-time, and falling into at night. I miss you like hell. ~ Edna St. Vincent Millay
